Gathering Leaves

Spades take up leaves
No better than spoons,
And bags full of leaves
Are light as balloons.

I make a great noise
Of rustling all day
Like rabbit and deer
Running away.

But the mountains I raise
Elude my embrace,
Flowing over my arms
And into my face.

I may load and unload
Again and again
Till I fill the whole shed,
And what have I then?

Next to nothing for weight,
And since they grew duller
From contact with earth,
Next to nothing for color.

Next to nothing for use.
But a crop is a crop,
And who’s to say where
The harvest shall stop?

After Halloween, Thanksgiving stuffs itself in before Insanity-mas. Turkey Day is the wine-y-smiley-over-indulging-mother-naturey showdown. And there’s nothing really more stuffed with the spirit of Thanksgiving than using a natural element such as paper for all matters decor. From a centerpiece, headdress, or even a banner, paper play with purpose this Thanksgiving.

some peeps at Uni used to call me “Center-Part” not because I craved the center of attention but because I was doing the Hugh-Grant-caught-with-a-prossy hairstyle. sad? yes! edgy? best believe it. needless to say it was a hairy situation to behold…and that memory brought my ass HAIRILY (yes it’s a real word) here….

event designing can be a hairy situation, so why not just go with the comedy of the cowlick? most events (like interiors) need comic relief. comedy deserves a part in every room or event space.  enjoy combing through these snapshots. maybe one will lather up an idea or bounce off another. PARTy on!
